General Description
Hastelloy C22 is a variant of Hastelloy C276 and has better resistance to chloride-induced localized corrosion and SCC than Hastelloy C4 and Inconel 625. In this alloy, the chromium content was raised to approximately 21% and molybdenum content reduced to approximately 13%. It also contains approximately 0.2% V and 1.7% Co.
Hastelloy C22 has outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking. It has excellent resistance to oxidizing aqueous media including wet chlorine and mixtures containing nitric acid or oxidizing acids with chloride ions. Hastelloy C22 produced by NiWire also offers optimum resistance to environments where reducing and oxidizing conditions are encountered in process streams. Because of this versatility, it can be used where upset conditions are likely to occur or in multipurpose plants.
Hastelloy C22 can be used for many applications such as marine, power, chemical processing, pollution control, paper processing, and waste disposal industries.
